What's my opinion about Singapore. Surprisingly good. Initially I expected it to be the exact representation of what I dislike... boring modern city, full of regulation, expensive, unfriendly people etc. Wherever you go in Singapore it's never far off from some green quiet place. Traffic isn't disturbing or polluting... it's just there. The structure of the buildings is quite innovative from time to time. You kind of get the feeling that the city looks different at every spot, with Muslim centre, residential area, modern downtown, coastal area and so on. All of which isn't covered by civilization is green... absolutely totally green. Yeah, this has been a brief glimps about Singapore which is either loved or hated. My opinion is likely to change rapidely after living there a month due the superficiality, but who knows.
Without much hassle I got to the airport and flew over to Bangalore. Isn't it amazing how easy going from A to B is nowadays? And if someone looks into the future it gets almost frightening adventurous. Visions such as traveling into space by elevator aren't even that far fetched. Nowadays literally nothing is impossible and you ought to get used to that *hihi*
After arrival in Bangalore I was picked up by Manju and accompanied to his place. Before entering he told me to wait outside, so he could light up everything to surprise me and I tell you it couldn't have been better. I have to make pictures speak since words are useless to describe it, but that has to wait. Beside the alternative and inspirational construction there are appr. 3000+ books lying around. 90% are concerned with personal development leaning onto Eastern tradition and New Age Philosohy. Someone has to stay openminded and down to earth to get the most out of it. Personally I received a hell lot of answer, which arose in Malaysia and earlier. However I don't want to go into that in my blog anymore... kind of too personal and trying to convince anybody of anything isn't worth it anyway. Everybody is living in his own reality and if he wants to break out or move on it's his choice and he/she will eventually receive answers, so scrap convincing... it's a waste of energy and time. Manju himself is a chilling person with a relaxed attitude. Laid back that's all you can say about him. His place is more or less himself turned outward. Anybody who wants to visit him, his books or the place is invitied 24 hours a day regardless of his precence or absence. Door have no locks and rooms no walls.
What did I do in Bangalore. Admittedly I was a lazy boy... only read talked and took some driving lessons. The latter was a product of me following the voice inside. Although I won't get the Indian Driving Liscence, due one missing paper it was worth it. Learning to drive in this traffic is pretty adventourus. Participants are not only busses, riksha's, motorcycles and ordinary cars... nooo... you also have to fight off handcarts and various kinds of animals who just walk around. Within 7 days I've seen 4 accidents. I don't even want to think about Mumbay, which is apparently much worse.
The driving lessons themselves were/are quite different. The first thing you recognize is that the car is incomplete... either 1 or 2 mirrors are missing. Following that you get into the car slightly puzzled. You put on your seatbelt... stop no... you don't because the "teacher" advices you not to. Theory... they never heard of that. OK. I've to say I got a paper filled with 50 road signes of whom 45 were arrows and other simplistic nonsense. Although they told me I've to learn them in order to pass the test, which is about asking 1 to 3 question... I never had to do anything. Learning to drive is pretty easy if you stay calm and concentrated. Sooner or later the automation process sets into motion and you're fine. Today's driving lesson was a bit special either, as I had to give the driver a "gift", which was demanded a day earlier so he teaches me properly Plus... the rear window was partially missing *haha*
I could talk on and on about India and my state of mind, but I'm going to shut up and start preparing for the trekking tour with some CS people around 400km away from Bangalore... no idea about the direction though.
My new motto is: "If you smile into life it smiles back"
P.S.: Georgia into NATO and sanctions on Russia HURRAY!!! Indeed I can't help but laugh... politics is a comedy =)
