The reason for me going down there is a project organized by university. I'll volunteer for the BRIDGE Foundation, which is active in the micro-credit business. Until recently I did not know much about lending to the poor apart from being member of kiva.org, which gave me a rough idea. It's just a great way of donating money, which you could even get back if you wanted. As I know I'll be going to work in this area for a couple of weeks, I rushed to get some books to introduce myself into the science of development... sure it's not as easy as you think and once getting into it will reveal lots of astonishing insights... kind of cleaning up your prejudices. Highly recommended book is "Banker to the Poor - The Story of the Grameen Bank" by Muhammad Yunus. Some of you may have heard of both Grameen and Yunus, a recent winner of the nobel price. The book is available on Amazon for a pretty decent price. Similar to the people you can hear on TED, it is amazing how much dedication flows into your brain through their speeches, writings or whatever form of communication is being used. I hope I'll catch up some wisdom about developmental work, gathered in the real world :) I guess that's what I seriously wanna do in life. As long as I'm young, live here and there to do some work in the fields of urban/ sustainable development... kind of continously working in field projects until I feel it's time to switch and do something more settled in terms of basis where I'm operating from. Going with my chiqita to Mexico or yeah... let's see what the future brings. I'll welcome whatever sneaks around the corner.
A few words to what has happened recently. Basically just studies, reading and friends. Also I have to start hiding now, cause the office of our student residence start to smell that I'm an alien in a girls-flat. Thus I gotta leave earlier and come home later, so I'm not gonna be thrown out. For now it would be fine, since I'm leaving soon anyway, but I have to stay for another 4 weeks in May :)

That's it for now, I'll probably post a lot once I'm in India since I have to "take notes" for a report I gotta write about my experience... how convinient.
Ciao bellas!
Don Felipe
