Israel, Ahmadinedschad and the Anti-Racism Conference

What has happened? Precicely this: CNN

I like the following comment written by Rosemarie Rourke. Unfortunately it was buried under statements supporting the boycott (look here)

"It saddens me to see otherwise intelligent people boycotting a conference of this importance simply because someone is set to say something they don't agree with.
Bottom line is simple. If there is such thing as a freedom of speech then Everyone has that right. If there is such a thing as free will and thought, then Everyone has that right.
To those who find another persons view so offensive they refuse to attend, your actions make you as small minded as the people you protest against."

Although I do not share the opinion of Iran's president in many respect, I have to state that this is just another obvious demonstration of the powerful Jewish lobby. If Western governments condemn this action then do it in the conference and start TALKING!!! Walking away from a problem doesn't solve it. I watched his speech live and CNN cut him off after half time introducing their correspondent stationed in Israel and slamming Ahmadinedschad over and over again. Sure his speech can be condemmed, but please try to create an objective discussion. It's similar to reading ARD (public TV station in Germany). If one even indicates something slightly critical of Israel, than BAMM. Their recent attack on Palestine was nothing short of Genocide. One reason why I basically agree with Ahmadinedschad in saying that Israel's policies are racist, but refrain from saying its government is. I believe that you have to distunguish here. I suppose the same counts for the Palestinians though.

World is not perfect... down here you've got something similar going on between India and Pakistan, which is equally explosive since both nations possess nuclear weapons.

I may post another blog entry tomorrow evening if I've got internet and time ;)

Love you all :)

Philippe
